A last minute goal from Melroy Assisi ensured the Mumbai youngsters a spot in the MDFA Division I Play-offs.

Mumbai’s U18 squad continued impressing on the pitch with a robust win versus Young Boys in the MDFA Division I. Head Coach Arshad Hussain put out a competitive line up in a 4-1-4-1 formation consisting of defenders Brandon Picardo, Abu Hamza, Kartik Yenurkar and Roysten.
Melroy Assisi was shielding the defence as the Defending Midfielder with 4 midfielders ahead of him in Calvin, Sanath in the center and Rolden and Bryce on the right and left respectively. Rabiul Shaikh was the lone forward and Rishabh Shetty started in goal.
The Mumbaikars started the game with a bang as Sanath scored in the 4th minute itself. The boys, who were dominant in the entire match, continued creating chance after chance but couldn’t get the ball into goal.
In the second half, a mistimed header from Kartik Yenurkar proved costly as theYoung Boys equalised via a counter-attack.
The Mumbaikars continued dominating and got their reward late on as Melroy Assisi’s individual brilliance from long range found the back of the net.
Mumbai claimed the victory and found a place in the MDFA Division I play-offs which begin on 8th April, 2017.
