The season is approaching its business end now. The title race has gotten hot and the teams atop are scrambling to make it past the finish line. But there is another battle brimming at the other end of the table.

Mumbai and Churchill Brothers have been engrossed in a battle for survival in the I-League. Mumbai have been given a ray of hope as Churchill have lost their game against Aizawl FC yesterday. Aizawl won with a 3-1 scoreline thanks to a brace by striker Kamo Bayi.

Mumbai will be looking to capitalise and gain ground on the Goan side with a victory over Chennai City. Mumbai coach Oscar Bruzon sounded focused in the pre-match conference , "We obviously don't want to finish at the bottom of the table. Tomorrow, we have a big task to complete against Chennai City FC, we will go all-out and do our best to get the desired result. We have to treat every match as a final for us now, and we'll play like that.”

His fellow counterpart V. Soundrarajan was equally optimistic about the game, "We are a newly formed football club and we stand for Tamil Nadu as a whole, promoting 5-6 players from the region by giving them contracts. Our main aim for this season is to finish in the top 8, thereby qualifying for the Federation Cup in Cuttack.”

Mumbai manager Oscar Bruzon stated that three players - Djelaludin Sharityar, Alex Willian and Thoi Singh are doubtful for the crucial tie. He said that a call on their appearance will be taken after the final practice session.

Chennai City FC are currently seventh in the I-League table with 16 points whereas Mumbai FC have 11 points and are in the tenth position.

The match will begin at the Cooperage at 19:05 hrs IST. We urge all Mumbaikars to come in large numbers to show their support for the city. Tweet with #AmchiMumbai and #MUMvCCFC to show your love for Mumbai.
