Mumbai Reserves played their first match after returning from the All India BSA Cup campaign at Ambernath where Salgaocar thanked their stars to be able to marginally beat Mumbai on penalties.

The Reserves have been in top form and are yet to be beaten in the regulation time of the game under the tutelage of Head Coach Arshad Hussain and Assistant Coach Siddheshwar Shinde. The boys started the game at high intensity at the Mumbai Football Arena, Andheri Sports Complex and it gave instant results as Yogesh Kadam found the net at the 8th minute to put Bombay Gym down to 1-0.

The goals kept on coming in the first half as Yogesh Kadam rounded his hat-trick with strikes at 14th and 25th minutes with substitute Faiz Khan’s goal sandwiched in between at the 21st minute. Winger Azfar Noorani also got into the mix as he scored another goal for Mumbai in the 32nd minute. The referee blew the half time whistle to put Bombay Gym out of their misery.

The opposition came in from the break with renewed vigour and enthusiasm as they stopped Mumbai’s constant attacks for 44 minutes. But the boys finally found a final breakthrough at the 90th minutes as Azfar Noorani completed his brace.
